All our staff are fully trained and qualified …
Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse. In 1999 I landed my dream job to train as a Veterinary Nurse in a large mixed practice in Hampshire. Before moving to Cornwall in 2004 I worked in Brighton for 2 years which is where I developed my strong interest in staff development and management.
This then lead to me purchasing my first surgery in 2004 and then Redruth Veterinary Surgery in 2012.
I had a beautiful daughter Melissa in 2008 and a son Myles in 2010 and later added to the family our loveable labrador Shelby!
After graduating from Lisbon Veterinary University in 2012, I moved back to the UK in 2013 and fell in love with Cornwall.
After graduating with an Animal Science and Management degree and then from Edinburgh vet school, I spent the last nine years in small animal practice in Yorkshire, where I enjoyed all aspects of practice, but mostly surgery.
Having spent ten years spending as many holidays as I could in Cornwall, I decided to take the plunge and move here in 2017 with my partner and four dogs. In my spare time, I show and judge Afghan hounds and Tibetan terriers at championship level, and if you look hard enough on the TV you might see me competing with my dogs at Crufts!
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2013 and started working for Reduth Veterinary Surgery in January 2016. I have previously worked at Penmellyn referral hospital and also spent time locuming.
I joined the practice in October 2014 as Deputy Head Nurse to help support the team. I have been in practice since I qualified in 2012. I moved to Cornwall in October 2014 after 6 months of travelling around South East Asia and New Zealand.
I have always wanted to work with animals since a young age, I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2013 and have worked in a mixed practice prior to coming here in April 2017, where I helped to look after animals large and small.
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 2016. I love all aspects of my job but especially like the interaction with clients and their pets. I find there is nothing more rewarding than nursing a poorly patient back to good health.
Before joining the veterinary practice in 2012 I used to work with horses.
Outside of work most of my time is occupied looking after and riding my horses Marley, Theo & Chester. I have two cats called Jerry and Peppi and a Border called Collie Ace.
I started working at Redruth Veterinary Surgery in October 2017 as part of my course at Duchy College. I am currently working as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant before studying my Vet Nurse Diploma in September 2018. I have always loved animals and am really excited that I am now on a career path that will enable me to help animals in need. I have lived in Cornwall all my life with my family and Barney our Cockerpoo.
I started my Veterinary Nursing course at Duchy College in September 2017. From when I was young I have always had a strong interest in animals and having the opportunity to work with them and care for them every day. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and work hard throughout my time here. I live with two cats, Tara and Lilly and I also have a German shepherd called max.
I have been a Veterinary Receptionist since January 2013 and love what I do. I enjoy meeting and getting to know our clients and pets. I have two cats called Mitsy and Teddy although Teddy acts more like a dog!
I joined the surgery in May 2017 as I wanted a career change. I have always grown up with horses and dogs so I love that I now get to work with pets daily.
Laura started with us in September she is working towards her Veterinary Care Assistant qualificaiton.
