Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse. In 1999 I landed my dream job to train as a Veterinary Nurse in a large mixed practice in Hampshire.
Before moving to Cornwall in 2004 I worked in Brighton for 2 years which is where I developed my strong interest in staff development and management.
This then lead to me purchasing my first surgery in 2004 and then Redruth Veterinary Surgery in 2012. I had a beautiful daughter Melissa in 2008 and a son Myles in 2010 and later added to the family our loveable Labrador Shelby!

Head Nurse
I have always wanted to work with animals since a young age, I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2013 and have worked in a mixed practice prior to coming to RVS in 2017, where I helped to look after animals large and small.
I became Head Nurse here in September 2020 and I enjoy all aspects of nursing, I have a keen interest in surgical nursing and running clinics for pets who need to lose a few extra pounds. I am also a clinical supervisor, so I help to train future Veterinary Nurses to help achieve their dream career.
In my spare time I enjoy going out for adventures in my campervan, kayaking and long coastal walks with my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bailey, an affectionate but cheeky chap at times. I also have a cat named Tammy who we fell in love with when she came to the practice as a rescue.

Veterinary Receptionist
I joined the team in February 2019. After studying Business and Office Administration, I wanted an administrative role but retain a position where I have daily interaction with the public, the role for Veterinary Receptionist was the ideal fit as I am a huge animal lover too.
I have three “children” who are all adults, I am married to Julian. Our life resolves around our black F1 labradoodle Jem and any spare time we have as a family is spent walking her in our beautiful country.

Veterinary Receptionist
I joined in February 2021, I have always loved animals from a very young age and have grown up owning dogs, cats and horses.
I started training as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016 and was in training for 6 years, although I decided to leave practice around the time of my practical exams and never qualified. Once I left practice, I regretted it and wanted to come back, and here I am!
I have worked in several practices including both small and large mixed practices. I have always enjoyed doing the reception side of practice and was over the moon to be back in a career where I love coming to work in the morning.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
I joined RVS at the end of 2020 when I began studying for my Veterinary Nursing degree. I have always been happiest around animals which is why I have got into nursing.
I am originally from Cheshire but moved to Cornwall to do the course after falling in love with it whilst down here on holiday with friends. I have grown up with several different pets, including dogs, cats, horses, and ferrets. Back home I have a cat called cat and an Airedale called Elwood. Outside of work I love horse riding, swimming, and exploring beautiful Cornwall with friends.
